On September 22, 2014, equipment of the 220 kV “digital” Venets substation (facility of FGC UES Branch — MES of Volga) was put into trial operation.
MES of Volga allocated two 110 kV lines to the digital sunstation trial project. These lines were used to test signal control outputs and switching device models. A maintenance-free outdoor cabinet manufactured by EKRA was installed at the 110 kV outdoo switchgear, including a heating system, temperature and humidity control with data transfer to the SCADA system. The digital substation equipment provides remote control of switching device and circuit-breakers in compliance with IEC 61850 standard. An outdoor cabinet with merging units equipment manufactured by EKRA was also installed at the site.

MOESK builds the 110/20 kV Medvedevskaya substation, designed to power supply facilities located at the Skolkovo Innovation Center.
Medvedevskaya is the first substation in Russia fully equipped with protection, control and automation devices in compliance with IEC 61850-9-2. This allows for data exchange between devices of different makes and models, making it much easier to introduce new equipment into the digital substation system.
In the shortest time EKRA manufactured and supplied relay protection devices of all voltage levels control & automation system; AC & DC low-voltage equipment.

In Tyumen Region, the 500 kV Tobol switching station, FGC UES, and the 500 kV ZapSib central distribution substation were commissioned, which connect Russia's large St. Petrochemical complex for deep processing of hydrocarbons, ZapSibNeftekhim, to the Unified National Power Grid.
The Tobol substation is Russia's first pilot ultra-high voltage power facility with a comprehensive implementation of the latest digital technology.
EKRA supplied to the power facility: line and shunt reactor protection systems, remedial action scheme systems and emergency disturbance recorders in compliance with IEC61850–9.2LE.

Devices based on EKRA 200 IEDs were recognized by voluntary certification body UES R&D Center as complying with the requirements of SO UES standard “Relay Protection and Automation. Automatic Emergency Control of Power System Modes. Power Unloading Automation Devices for Power Overloading. Norms and Requirements.” These are the first Russian devices to receive such a certificate.

The 110/6 kV Portovaya substation, Grid Company was commissioned. The new indoor power facility replaces a nearby substation of the same name commissioned in 1957.
Specialists implemented a concept that combines traditional primary equipment with intelligent secondary equipment that enables the conversion of analogue signals into digital ones. A high level of automation is provided by EKRA protection IEDs and control and automation system. More than 200 brand new digital devices were installed at the substation.

The World University Games were held in Krasnoyarsk on March 2–12. Russia hosted the Winter Universiade for the first time ever.
In preparation for the competitions, much attention was paid to the power facilities that provide uninterrupted power supply to Yenisei Stadium, Arena-North, Crystal Arena, Platinum Arena, Ivan Yarygin Sports Palace, and Winter Sports Academy.
EKRA Group supplied its in-house manufactured relay protection equipment to key substations. EKRA-Siberia commissioned equipment at the 110 kV Molodezhnaya substation. This digital substation has a complex of control and automation equipment, main and reserve transformer protection cabinets ShE2607 151, UFLS cabinets ShE2607 211, DC & AC auxiliary distribution boards.
EKRA equipment was also installed at the 110 kV Ozernaya and 110 kV Yubileynaya substations, Krasnoyarskenergo, branch of IDGC of Siberia. The equipment was adjusted with supervision at the facilities by EKRA-Siberia specialists.
